CMS Energy is a large American energy company, producer and supplier of electricity and natural gas. It was founded in 1886 in Michigan, under the name Consumers Energy. In 1987, it was reorganized into CMS Energy - a holding with two subsidiaries: Consumers Energy and CMS Enterprises.
