Merck & Co., Inc is an international pharmaceutical company, producing vaccines and medical supplies. Originally it was an old German medical company, but in 1917 the American branch was registered as an independent company. After the World War II the company increased its presence in the European market and finally after uniting with Sharp and Dohme in 1953, the company found itself the biggest medicine producer in the USA. Merck & Co., Inc is famous for having invented vaccines for measles, mumps and rubella treatment. Away from the USA and Canada the company’s products are sold under Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD) trademark.
